In India, more than 500 million smartphone users will have to purchase 5G-ready devices in the coming times and the country will soon have around 100 million 5G-enabled smartphone users in the nation. Also, millions of users will enjoy full 5G services by 2024 but on 5G supporting devices only.

The launch of 5G services follows years of intense preparation. Recently, 5G spectrum auctions were conducted successfully and 51,236 MHz was allocated to Telecom Service Providers with gross revenue of Rs. 1,50,173 Crores. 5G can unleash new economic opportunities and societal benefits.
Swedish telecommunications giant Ericsson also announced the introduction of ultra-lightweight Massive "MIMO 32T32R" radios as the best fit for India's needs - AIR 3219 and AIR 3268 (Antenna Integrated Radio).
According to sources, the government may showcase some successful 5G testbeds being run in the country by Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea at the IMC 2022, jointly organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
The partnership to supply 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) is aimed at helping Philadelphia-based Comcast to "enhance 5G connectivity" for its customers, the South Korean tech giant said, as demand for stable internet access in the US is rapidly on the rise.
