Three individuals tragically lost their lives in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Vikarabad district, Telangana, on Sunday. According to authorities, the incidents occurred in two villages within the Yalal mandal during rainfall.
Two individuals were fatally struck by lightning while working in an agricultural field, while another person, seeking shelter under a tree, also succumbed to a lightning strike. The victims, aged between 26 to 40 years old, were identified by the police.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Meteorological Centre in Hyderabad has issued a forecast warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 KMPH) in isolated areas across several districts of Telangana on Sunday, including Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Medak, Nagarkurnool, and Wanaparthy.
