Telangana Lok Sabha Elections Results Highlights: The BJP and the Congress party won eight seats each in Telangana. On the other hand, AIMIM's Assaduddin Owaisi won his Hyderabad constituency for the fifth time. K Chandrashekhar Rao's BRS failed to win even one seat. Necessary arrangements were made for the counting of votes polled in the election to the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana, with about 10,000 personnel deployed to take part in the exercise. The counting of postal ballots and votes cast in EVMs started first constituencies. Postal ballots were counted in separate halls. The voting in the state was held in a single phase on May 13 and a voter turnout of 66.30 per cent was recorded in this year's general election. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress are the main parties in the state. These parties are vying for a significant share of the seats in Telangana, making the outcome critical for their respective political strategies and influence in the region. According to the Election Commission, no mobile phones will be allowed into the counting centres, where three-layer security has been deployed. The Election Commission has also deployed one observer per Assembly segment, and two micro observers. Every counting table will also have a counting supervisor, counting assisatnt and micro-observer. Notably, Telangana is the only state in the south, apart from Karnataka, where the BJP won seats in 2019, the saffron party also marked an increase in its vote share to about 14 per cent. Notably, the exit polls on Saturday predicted that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to improve its vote share in the southern states in the Lok Sabha elections.
