Lok Sabha Elections 2024: How much black money Congress received from Adani, Ambani? PM Modi in Telangana

PM Modi's dig at Congress over Adani and Ambani came as the 'Grand Old Party' for long has been accusing the prime minister of favouring the top five industrialists in the country.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asked the Congress whether they have received 'tempo loads of money' from Adani and Ambani since they have stopped abusing his government over the two industrialists in this Lok Sabha election. "Since his (Rahul Gandhi) Rafale issue got grounded, he started chanting about 'five industrialists'. Then he started saying Ambani-Adani. But ever since elections have been announced, these people (Congress) have stopped abusing Ambani-Adani," the Prime Minister asked the 'Grand Old Party' during a poll rally in Telangana's Vemulawada.

'Congress aur INDI alliance ka teesra fuse udd gaya hai'

Taking a dig at the Opposition parties, the Prime Minister said that after the third phase of polling, 'Congress aur INDI alliance ka teesra fuse udd gaya hai' (the third fuse of the Congress and INDI alliance was off).

"Yesterday, the third phase of voting (for Lok Sabhal elections) took place in the country. In the third phase, the third fuse of Congress and INDI alliance has blown up. Four phases of voting are still left, people's blessing is pushing the victory chariot of the BJP and NDA with great pace," said PM Modi.

Congress and BRS united by appeasement politics

In his address to a public meeting in Telangana's Karimnagar, Prime Minister Modi emphasised that the BJP operates on the principle of "nation first." However, he remarked that for the Congress and BRS it is "family first."

PM Modi said, "BJP always works on the 'nation first' policy whereas Congress and BRS work on the principle of 'family first'. Their political parties are like 'by the family, for the family, of the family'. Congress and BRS are no different and what connects them? Corruption, appeasement politics and the model of zero governance connect these two parties."

"Due to this policy of 'family first', Congress has disrespected PV Narasimha Rao, even after his death, they denied the entry of his dead body in the Congress' office. BJP-NDA govt respected PV Narasimha Rao by awarding Bharat Ratna to him," he added.

PM Modi asserted that during all these years, Congress governments focused solely on one task: dismantling every capability of the country. "Whether it is India or Telangana, there was no dearth of capabilities in our country. However, for all these years, Congress governments did only one work - to destroy each and every capability of the country. You tell me the Congress destroyed the country's economy or not? Agriculture and textile sectors were India's strength since ages, but Congress destroyed them too. Congress is the mother of all problems in the country," he said.

PM Modi on Rahul Gandhi

"For years, the princes of Congress incessantly chanted the same mantra day and night...'5 industrialists', 'Ambani', 'Adani'... But since the elections are declared, they have stopped abusing Ambani, Adani... Why? I wish to ask the Shehzadey (Prince) of Congress, how much black money have they received from Adani, Ambani? How much the Congress party has 'received' from those industrialists for the elections?" questioned PM Modi.

PM Modi highlighted that corruption serves as a unifying element between the Congress and BRS. Despite their mutual accusations of corruption, both parties are implicated in the same corrupt practices.

He pointed out that while BRS members frequently accused the Congress of engaging in cash-for-votes schemes, they failed to initiate any investigations when they were in power. Similarly, when the Congress was in the opposition, allegations were made against BRS regarding the Kaleshwaram scam, yet no investigations were conducted after BRS assumed power, underscoring their mutual involvement in corruption.

"From Telangana to Delhi, there is a lot of discussion about the 'double R' (RR) tax. A film named 'RRR' was released a few days back in the Telugu language, someone told me that 'RR' has left behind 'RRR' in the collection. It is reported that 'RRR' has a lifetime collection of over Rs 1000 crore, but this much money is just a few days collection of 'RR' tax," said PM Modi.

The PM said that the Congress party wants to grab the reservation rights meant for SCs, STs and Dalits and give the same to the Muslim community. "Ensuring welfare is neither their vision nor agenda.  All what Congress wants to secure is its vote bank. This corrupt party is fully immersed in appeasement policy," he added.

PM Modi offers prayers at Vemulawada temple

Before of the address, the Prime Minister offered prayers at Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple at Vemulawada, about 150 km from Hyderabad. The temple priests applied tilak on Modi's forehead and gave Vedic blessings.

PM Modi will also attend a rally in Annamayya district followed by a roadshow in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, later in the day. The PM stayed at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday night.

Karimnagar BJP candidate

The key contest in Karimnagar is between Bharatiya Janata Party's Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Congress' Velichala Rajendra Rao and Bharat Rashtra Samithi's B Vinod Kumar.  Bandi Sanjay is currently serving as the National General Secretary of the party and the former state president of the BJP in Telangana. He was also active in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a youth, joining the organization at the age of twelve.

In the 2019 General Assembly Elections, Karimnagar witnessed a fiercely contested battle. This constituency witnessed a 66.59 per cent voter turnout in the year 2019. BJP candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar won the 2019 General Election with a victory margin of 89,508 votes, securing 4,98,276 votes. Bandi Sanjay Kumar defeated Boianapalli Vinod Kumar of the TRS, who got 4,08,768 votes.
