The Congress' Central Election Committee on Monday released the 3rd list of candidates for the Telangana Assembly elections 2023. Congress made the contest in the Kamareddy constituency very interesting by pitting its state chief Revanth Reddy against BRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) from Kamareddy constituency.
The grand old party so far announced 116 candidates for the Telangana election which is scheduled to take place on November 30.
Revanth Reddy to contest from two seats
Revanth Reddy decided to take on Chief Minister KCR in Kamareddy constituency giving a strong message to his party cadre. However, resorting to a safer side, he is also contesting from Kodangal which is his home constituency which he represented from 2014–2018. Currently, Reddy is an MP from Malkajgiri constituency.
Earlier, Congress released the first candidate list carrying 55 candidates on October 25, while the second list of 45 contestants was released on October 27.
The Congress is hoping for wresting power from the ruling Bharat Rashtra Smitthi in the state, while another player is the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), which has been rapidly increasing its footprint in the state.
Meanwhile, Congress fielded former cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin from Jubilee Hills seat.
