Telangana Assembly Elections: In view of the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana, there has been a surge in visits by political leaders. Following a recent visit by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, where he participated in various election public meetings and road shows, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is also scheduled to tour the state. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to address an election rally in the Mahabubnagar district of Telangana on October 31.
Rally will be organized in Kollapur constituency
Talking about Priyanka Gandhi's visit, a Congress leader said that a public rally named "Palamuru Praja Bheri" will be organized in the Kollapur constituency. In this constituency, former minister Jupalli Krishna Rao is the Congress Party candidate. It's worth noting that Krishna Rao, who was previously suspended by the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), had announced his decision to join the Congress back in June. He was initially scheduled to formally join the party at a public rally in Kollapur to be addressed by Priyanka Gandhi. However, this rally was postponed twice in July due to heavy rains.
Krishna Rao joined Congress
Jupally Krishna Rao, the former minister, officially joined the Congress in New Delhi on August 3, in the presence of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge. Following this, as the Congress fielded Krishna Rao as its candidate from Kollapur, he requested the party leadership to organize a public rally featuring Priyanka Gandhi. This will be Priyanka Gandhi's second visit to Telangana after the announcement of the assembly election schedule.
Earlier, on October 18, she and Rahul Gandhi visited Mulugu district to kickstart the party's election campaign. While Priyanka Gandhi returned after addressing a public meeting in Mulugu, Rahul Gandhi continued his 'Vijaybheri Yatra' for three days, covering assembly constituencies in four districts.
