Hyderabad Election Results 2024: AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi, BJP's Kompella Madhavi Latha, Congress party's Mohammad Waliullah Sameer, and BRS's Gaddam Srinivas Yadav are the main candidates in the Hyderabad constituency of Telangana.

Hyderabad Election Results 2024: Assaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM defeated BJP's Madhavi Latha by a huge margin of 3,38,087 votes retaining the seat for the fifth time in a row. Owaisi was polled 6,61,981 votes while Latha got 3,23,894 votes. Hyderabad is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana. The state has 17 parliamentary seats. The Hyderabad seat comprises seven Assembly segments including Malakpet, Karwan, Goshamahal, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura, Bahadurpura. The constituency is a general seat and not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs). AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi has been representing the constituency since 2004. His father Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi won the seat six times in a row in 1984, 1989, 1991, 1996, 1998 and 1999. The electoral clash in Hyderabad promises to be a battle royale, with implications far beyond the confines of the constituency.

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress are the main parties in the constituency. AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi, BJP's Kompella Madhavi Latha, Congress party's Mohammad Waliullah Sameer, and BRS's Gaddam Srinivas Yadav are the main candidates in the Hyderabad constituency of Telangana.

The polling in Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency was held in the fourth phase on May 13 along with 16 other constituencies of the state.

According to the Election Commission, a voter turnout of 48.48 per cent was recorded in the Hyderabad constituency.

What happened in 2014 and 2019 elections?  

In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Asaduddin Owaisi from AIMIM won the seat and was polled 513,868 votes with a vote share of 52.88%. BJP candidate Dr.bhagavanth Rao got 311,414 votes (32.05 %) and was the runner-up.Asaduddin Owaisi defeated Dr.bhagavanth Rao by a margin of 202,454 votes.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Asaduddin Owaisi from AIMIM won the seat with a margin of 282,186 votes. Asaduddin Owaisi was polled 517,471 votes with a vote share of 59.00 % and defeated Dr. Bhagavanth Rao from BJP who got 235,285 votes (26.80 %).
