A day after the demolition of unauthorised structures at the residence of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, senior official of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been transferred.
After the matter gained momentum, a senior officer of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was transferred in the case of demolition of illegal construction. Official sources said on Monday that Khairatabad Regional Commissioner Hemant Bhorkhade has been asked to report to the General Administration Department.
Demolition carried out without informing top officials
He was transferred on Sunday because the demolition action at Jagan Mohan Reddy's residence was done without informing the top government officials. GHMC on Saturday demolished illegal construction on the footpath near Reddy's residence at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad.
Notably, the GHMC on Saturday demolished certain structures on the pavement adjacent to the Lotus Pond residence of Reddy in Hyderabad. This action was taken at a time when the government had changed in Andhra Pradesh. Discussions have now intensified due to the action being taken immediately after the recent assembly elections.
Meanwhile, a senior GHMC official had said that the municipal corporation officials had demolished the illegal construction adjacent to the compound wall to do tile work on the footpath near Jagan Mohan Reddy's residence. This structure was being used by security personnel.
