Apple held its World Wide Developer Conference 2024 on June 10. During the event, Apple unveiled the latest feature of the next generation of iPhone operating system, iOS 18.  The new features coming to iOS 18 includes new home screen customization, Control Center revamp, updates to the Messages app in iOS 18, Tap to Cash, and more. Here are all the features coming to iOS 18.

iOS 18 is bringing some exciting new features. You will be able to customise your home screen with new theming options for app icons, allowing you to place them anywhere and automatically tint icons with dark mode.

The Control Center has been revamped with a multipage layout, and a new "Controls Gallery" will allow third-party developers to offer widgets for the Control Center. You can also swap new controls onto the lock screen, replacing the flashlight and camera icons.

iOS 18 also supports locking individual apps behind Face ID, and in the Messages app, Tapbacks have been redesigned to allow tapping back with any emoji or sticker. You will also be able to schedule message sends, and use text effects and formatting options like underline and strike-through.

Furthermore, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users will be able to send iMessages without Wi-Fi or cell service through Messages via Satellite.

The Mail app will now have automatic categorization, handled entirely on the device. In addition to this, Apple Maps is adding detailed topographic maps with offline support and Apple Wallet is adding tap-to-pay for Apple Cash, a new Apple Pay Online platform, and improved support for event tickets.

The Journal app is introducing support for logging your state of mind and tracking goals, with a new Insights view and search support.

Game Mode is coming to iPhone, minimising background activity for higher frame rates, and the Photos app is getting its biggest redesign ever, making it easier to handle growing photo libraries with a new option to hide screenshots and a new "Collections" feature. The Photos app can also now group people together, and there's a new Carousel interface for your photos.

iOS 18 will also add RCS, reminders integration in Calendar, an option to make your home screen icons bigger, and more.
