As of October 24, WhatsApp will no longer work for those individuals using smartphones running on Android OS 5.0 or earlier versions, and for iPhone users, their devices must be running iOS 12 or later to continue using WhatsApp.

Reportedly, the move to discontinue support for these older operating systems is part of WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to prioritise privacy and safety.
