WhatsApp, the world's most widely used instant messaging app, regularly introduces new features to the platform. These updates not only enhance the app's usefulness but also improve user experience. WhatsApp has recently rolled out a new update with a redesigned status tab. The status tab, previously featuring a circular design, has now been updated to a square shape. This change, which has been released for Android users, aims to provide a new experience.

What will the new status section look like?

In the previous design, when a contact uploaded a photo to their status, their profile was displayed in a circular format. With the new update, the design has been changed from circular to square. Additionally, the update introduces a status preview feature for users. This feature allows users to preview a status update without having to click on it, providing greater control over what they view.

When will users receive this update?

The status preview feature is being rolled out gradually, so users who have not yet received the update should expect it to arrive in the coming days.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has recently enhanced its video calling feature by adding three new features. These include a new screen-sharing feature, an increased participant count, and a speaker spotlight. With these updates, WhatsApp is now on par with its competitors like Zoom, FaceTime, and Google Meet. The screen-sharing feature was initially introduced in August last year, and now it has been further improved to allow for sharing audio along with the screen. This new addition enables users to watch videos with their friends and family during a WhatsApp call.

WhatsApp has recently updated the number of participants allowed in a video call. The new version now supports up to 32 people in a single video call, regardless of the device being used. Previously, WhatsApp had a limit of 32 participants for mobile devices, while users on Windows and macOS could add up to 16 and 8 participants, respectively.
