Vodafone-Idea plans to become expensive from July 4: Here are the new rates

Vodafone Idea has surprised its millions of users by announcing that many of its prepaid plans will become 11 percent to 24 percent more expensive starting from July 4. Additionally, the company has also made a significant statement regarding the launch of 5G.

After Airtel and Jio, Vodafone-Idea (Vi) has also decided to increase its mobile tariffs. The new plans of the loss-making telecom company will come into effect from July 4. The company has decided to increase the rates of its plans by 11 to 24 percent, giving a shock to millions of users. At the same time, the plans of the other two private telecom companies have also become more expensive by up to 22 percent. The new plans of Airtel and Jio will come into effect from July 3.

Plans will become more expensive from July 4

According to a PTI report, Vodafone Idea stated that the company had designed an excellent range of feature-rich plans to meet the diverse needs of its consumers. The company emphasized that it maintained its philosophy of supporting entry-level users and gradually increasing prices with increasing usage, stating that the changes in the plans at this level were nominal.

These are the new rates

The company has increased the price of the initial 28-day plan by 11 percent. Users will now have to spend Rs 199 for the company's Rs 179 recharge plan. At the same time, the price of the company's popular plan with 84 days validity and 1.5GB daily data has also been increased from Rs 719 to Rs 859.

Regarding Vi's annual plan, the company has increased the price of its annual unlimited plan by about 21 percent. For Vodafone-Idea's Rs 2,899 annual plan, users will now have to spend Rs 3,499. At the same time, the company has also made changes in the value-for-money plan with a 24GB data limit and 365 days validity. For this, users will have to spend Rs 1,999 now.

Preparations to launch 5G

Vi stated in its statement that Vodafone-Idea is planning significant investments in the next few quarters to further improve the 4G experience as well as launch 5G services. The company expressed enthusiasm for its participation in the recently held 5G spectrum auction and mentioned that it had purchased 50MHz spectrum for which it had decided to spend Rs 3,510 crore.
