WhatsApp is an instant messaging app with millions of users around the world, including 50 crore people in India alone. To enhance users' experience, Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, regularly introduces new features. However, not all users are aware of all the features available to them. Some of these features are secret, and they can make chatting even more enjoyable.
Many WhatsApp users engage in personal chats that they do not want others to read. To address this concern, WhatsApp introduced the Chat Lock feature, which allows users to hide their chats within the app so that no one else can access them. If you want to keep your chats private, you can follow these steps:
1. Go to the profile of the contact whose chat you want to hide.
2. Scroll down and turn on the Chat Lock option.
3. The conversation between you and the contact is now locked within the app.
4. You will need to unlock the app to read the chat.
5. The Locked Chat option will appear at the top of the app after the chat is locked.
6. You can tap on the Locked Chat option to view the conversation with your chat-locked contact.
If you want to hide the Locked Chats option entirely, you can use a secret method to make your and your contact's private chats disappear. Only you will be able to read the locked chats. Here's how:
1. Follow the steps above to lock the conversation with the app.
2. On the home page of WhatsApp, you will find the Locked Chats option above.
3. Tap on it, and you will see three dots on the top right side in the Locked Chats section.
4. Tap on these dots and then click on Chat Lock Settings.
5. You will see the option of Hide Locked Chats. Tap on this option to enable it.
6. Below this, you will see a Secret Code option. Create any secret code of your choice.
7. After doing this, the Locked Chats option will not be visible on the home page of the app.
To read the locked chats, you will need to enter the same secret code you created in the chat lock settings into the search bar of WhatsApp. Once you enter this code, your private contact's chats will be visible. This method will help you keep your personal chats safe and secure within the app.
