Apple recently held its annual event, WWDC 2024, and made several significant announcements for iPhone users. One of the major reveals was the preview of iOS 18, which promises to bring many exciting features. However, it's advisable to hold off on downloading and installing iOS 18 for now. Here’s why.
Many reports have surfaced recommending against the immediate installation of iOS 18. Although the update introduces AI support and is expected to deliver amazing features, it's important to note that the iOS 18 is currently available in the beta version. This version is intended for testing purposes, and the stable version will be released by Apple soon after any flaws detected during the beta testing phase are resolved.
Why should users not download and install iOS 18 now?
A cautionary note is being sounded against the installation of the beta version of iOS 18 due to potential issues commonly associated with new updates. Some users have reported iPhone slowdowns, automatic app closures, and system hang-ups after installing the beta version of iOS 18.
Furthermore, while Apple has stated that iOS 18 includes many artificial intelligence features, these features may not be present in the current beta version. It's recommended to wait for the stable version of iOS 18 to avoid encountering these problems.
Meanwhile, Apple is updating the Control Center of the iPhone with iOS 15. It will have more options and allow users to swipe across pages for additional controls and toggles. Additionally, iOS 15 will make it easier for users to turn off their iPhones. The new power button can be used to quickly turn off the device without having to press and hold the Volume Down + Power buttons and then swipe the slider. This shortcut can be accessed in the Control Center at the top-right corner of the screen.
