Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, one of the major events is scheduled for July 10 (2024). The launch event’s news was first reported by The Chosun Daily, a South Korean publication. This year, the physical launch event is expected to take place in Paris and will be aligned with the upcoming 2024 Olympics. The previous Unpacked event was hosted in South Korea, which is the home market of Samsung.
Upcoming smartphone- Foldable smartphone
At the upcoming event, Samsung is expected to unveil its next-generation foldable smartphones- the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Both the upcoming foldable devices are rumoured to come in thinner designs, enhanced portability and better user experience. Samsung has further aimed at maintaining its competitive edge in the foldable market, which was seen in growing competition from brands like Vivo, Honor, OnePlus and Oppo.
Vivo has recently introduced its foldable smartphone in India, which claims to be the thinnest in the world.
Upcoming Galaxy Ring
Furthermore, the foldable devices from Samsung are expected to introduce the highly anticipated Galaxy Ring, a newly introduced wearable. The Galaxy Ring was first teased during the launch of the Galaxy S24 series and it was further showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024.
This new device has been set to expand Samsung's wearable technology lineup, which offers new and innovative features, specifically focusing on health and fitness tracking.
Accessories and other features
Samsung is likely to announce a range of other accessories at the July event, which will include two new smartwatches - the Galaxy Watch 7 series and Watch 7 Ultra. Also, the company will unleash the new earbuds - Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. These new products are expected to launch with advanced features, enhancing the overall user experience.
The new foldable handset has been rumoured to pack innovative features, especially new generative AI (GenAI) capabilities, which might provide users with enhanced functionality and improved performance.
Furthermore, there are speculations about a special Paris Olympic edition of these devices, which will continue Samsung's tradition of releasing special editions of their flagship smartphones during major global events.
