Samsung is gearing up to add two new smartphones to its Galaxy A series. Both of these smartphones, from the South Korean company, are currently in development and the company is expected to launch them in the second half of the year. The details about the price of the phones have also been revealed, with reports suggesting that they will be upgraded models of the company's Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A05.
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A05 are expected to be launched in December this year and may be introduced in the global market next year, as per Galaxy Club report. Additionally, there are preparations underway for the Samsung Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56, with both phones likely to be launched in April 2025.
According to reports, both Samsung Galaxy A series smartphones are expected to be priced at less than 20 euros, approximately Rs 18,200. The phones have been seen in internal testing with model numbers SM-A166B and SM-A065M, and are likely to offer 5G network support. However, the report did not reveal any specifications for these two phones.
In terms of features, the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor, while the 4G variant runs on the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. The Galaxy A05 features the MediaTek Helio G85 processor. Both phones support a 50MP primary camera, 5000mAh battery, and 25W wired charging.
Meanwhile, Samsung has made a significant change to its software and security update policy. The company has decided to discontinue security updates for three of its smartphones. This decision follows the discontinuation of support for all smartwatches running the Tizen operating system.
The affected smartphones are the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, Galaxy A41, and Galaxy M01, all of which were released more than four years ago. According to Samsung's policy, security update support is typically provided for up to four years. As a result, these three models will no longer receive security updates or new features.
