Lenovo Legion Go launching on June 27 in India: Details

Lenovo has confirmed the launch date for its highly anticipated gaming handheld device, the Legion Go. Scheduled to debut on June 27, 2024, this release will follow its first unveiling at IFA 2023, marking Lenovo's official foray into the Windows gaming handheld arena.

Lenovo has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming gaming handheld device, which will be named Legion Go. The upcoming gaming console from the company is set to launch on June 27, and an initial reveal at IFA 2023 will follow it- signifying the company's entry into the Windows gaming handheld market.

Key features and specifications

The Legion Go has been designed to provide a high-performance game experience in a compact form- a handheld device. Here are the specifications which claim to make it an ideal gaming device:

  1. It has an 8.8-inch QHD+ display with scalable resolutions from 1600p to 800p.
  2. It has a refresh rate of both 144Hz and 60Hz modes for smooth gameplay visuals.
  3. The console is powered by AMD Z1 Extreme APU, which claims to deliver robust performance during gameplay.
  4. Memory: The device is equipped with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which runs at 7500MHz.
  5. Storage: The device comes with up to 1TB of NVMe M.2 2242 PCIe Gen 4 SSD for fast game loading and system responsiveness.
  6. It also includes a UHS-II microSD card slot, which enables the user to expand the storage by up to 2TB.

Cooling and controls while the gameplay

  • The ‘Coldfront thermal technology’ features a quiet 79-blade fan, which makes sure that the device stays cool even during an intense gaming session. Users can also customize the cooling modes for optimal performance, says Lenovo.
  • The console comes with Hall Effect joysticks for accurate and drift-free control, and enhanced gameplay.
  • It comes with detachable controllers, which came with ‘TrueStrike controllers’ that could be detached for a versatile FPS gaming mode.

Software and connectivity

It comes integrated with ‘Legion Space’ which is a centralized hub for accessing games and adjusting settings effortlessly.

  1. For connectivity, it comes with dual USB Type-C ports which ensures versatile options for peripherals and accessories.
  2. It supports Wi-Fi 6E which is claimed to be fast and reliable 
  3. It comes with Bluetooth 5.2 
  4. On the battery front, it comes with a 49.2Wh battery with Super Rapid Charge technology enabling the console to recharge it with enough juice, and minimal downtime between gaming sessions.

Launch details and pricing

The upcoming Lenovo Legion Go is set to launch on June 27 in India. Although the company has not yet disclosed the official pricing for the Indian market, per the global price tag, which is 799 Euros (approximately USD 866 or Rs. 72,258), we expect the device to be around Rs 70,000.

This suggests it will be competitively priced, similar to the **ROG Ally**, which was launched in India for Rs. 69,990.
