Several reports and speculations have emerged regarding the upcoming iPhone 16 series which is said to launch four variants. From iPhone 16 to the Plus, Pro, and Pro Max models, Apple will be working on major upgrades to the upcoming device and it is said that the handset will feature new cameras and a larger screen. Expected to launch in September this year, the new iPhone series will further have major AI-specific updates.
Upgraded camera system
The tipster on Weibo- the Chinese microblogging website, has shared some of the camera features for the Pro and Pro Max devices. Both the flagship smartphones from Apple are said to come with a new 48MP ultrawide camera, with improved capabilities over the models which were released last year (2023).
Furthermore, both iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will feature a 5x tetraprism telephoto module, which will further support 5x optical zoom for superior photography.
Display Update
We recently saw dummy models for the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, which indicated that the screen size of both smartphones will be bigger when compared to the existing iPhone 15 Pro.
As per the report of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the device will feature a 6.9-inch display, making it the largest iPhone screen to date, and has surpassed the existing 6.7-inch display of last year’s model.
It is further said that the display is expected to include the Dynamic Island feature. While the exact design of the four bezels will remain unclear in the dummy units, the increase in the display size has suggested that the resolution of the iPhone 16 Pro Max will also be higher than its predecessor- the iPhone 15 series.
Colour variants
Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst has further suggested that the iPhone 16 series will be launched with two new colour variants. Along with black, white, silver, and grey options, the Pro models will potentially come in a natural titanium colour.
Talking about 2023, the iPhone 15 Pro series offered black and white titanium options, which indicated a continued focus on premium materials for the Pro models.
