The production of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro displays is set to begin soon. Apple plans to start manufacturing the displays for its upcoming iPhone 16 series next month, in June. Following the success of the iPhone 15 series, the company aims to produce the iPhone 16 series displays on a large scale.
According to Ross Young, CEO of DSCC, a specialist in smartphone display chains, Apple will soon commence the production of displays for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. Both of these smartphones are expected to be mass-produced. Additionally, TF Securities International analyst Ming Chi Kuo suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro Max, set to be launched this year, may feature a better battery than its predecessor.
A recent leak by Chinese tipster Majin Bu revealed a picture of the dummy units of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, showcasing the size of the display in this series. The image suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro Max could have a 6.9-inch display, larger than the previous model, which had a 6.7-inch display. Notably, in the first quarter of 2024, this Apple flagship smartphone was the best-selling smartphone in the world.
Furthermore, Apple has doubled its production of iPhones in India. Prime Minister Modi recently stated that every 7th iPhone sold worldwide is made in India. With the increasing demand for Made in India iPhones, India has become the world's second-largest mobile manufacturing country. Sales of iPhones made in India have surged by 19 percent year-on-year, leading to record levels of iPhone sales in the country. These developments have been attributed to the Government of India's PLI scheme.
Meanwhile, iPhone users will soon receive AI features as Apple plans to introduce iOS 18 next month. The new operating system will include on-device AI capabilities for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Watch. This marks a significant development, as until now, only Android users have had access to on-device AI features. The upcoming iOS 18 will bring a range of on-device AI features to iPhone users, simplifying their tasks.
