The iPhone has millions of fans worldwide, who see it not just as a smartphone, but as a status symbol. Today is Apple's WWDC, the World Wide Developers Conference, during which Apple will introduce the next generation operating system for its iPhone and other products, including operating systems like iOS18, iPadOS18, MacOS, and WatchOS.

Different companies contribute to the various parts of the iPhone. For instance, companies like Samsung, LG, and BOE generally manufacture displays for the iPhone. Samsung, in particular, is a major supplier of the Super Retina OLED panels used in Apple's iPhones.

In terms of iPhone chips, TSMC is the primary manufacturer, although Samsung and Intel have also supplied chips for various iPhone models. Qualcomm designs the network connectivity chips for the iPhone, whereas Corning Gorilla Glass is used to protect the display.

Sony is responsible for the sensors used in the iPhone cameras, while companies like Sony, Amperex Technology Limited (ATL), and LG supply batteries for the iPhone. Western Digital and Kioxia provide memory chips for storage in the iPhone.

Additionally, companies like Pegatron and Foxconn aid in the assembly of the iPhone. It's important to note that Apple solely designs the iPhones and then designs the software for the phone as well.

Meanwhile, tonight, Apple is hosting its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2024. The tech giant will be unveiling its latest offerings for customers at the highly anticipated event. At last year's WWDC, Apple introduced its virtual reality headset, Apple Vision Pro, which is now available at selected locations.

This year, rumours and reports suggest that the focus will be more on the software side of things rather than hardware. The company is likely to make some exciting announcements about iOS 18 and generative AI. Interested tech enthusiasts and Apple fans can also watch the livestream of the event to stay updated on the key announcements.
