Google Search, one of the leading and most used search engines has upgraded the platform and over the past three decades, many changes have been implemented in Google Search. The company has been upgrading the platform now and then, which indeed is continuing to grow it further, to become more popular among people. But, now Google's dominance is under threat as the arrival of ChatGPT, a chatbot with AI (artificial intelligence) capabilities has been used by a lot of users.
OpenAI, a company behind the chatbot, which makes generative AI tools is said to be going at launching an AI search engine, which might impact the Google search.
When will it launch?
As per a Reuters report, OpenAI could launch its search engine before Google I/O which has been scheduled for May 14 i.e. tomorrow. However, there has been no official information shared by the company, at the time of writing.
About the new search engine, the information could be obtained directly from the website without any additional tools. This AI search engine by ChatGPT will make the information available on the internet instantly, with which there will be a change in the search experience of the users.
Challenges
As per the industry, it has been stated that the new search engine has many flaws which were detected and the real-time information was received online on ChatGPT.
The chatbot further has integration with Microsoft's Bing search engine, which provides AI-native search results by using images and text.About ChatGPT’s inception
After its official launch in 2022, ChatGPT became the world's fastest application to reach 100 million monthly active users. However, after this, the number of active users witnessed a decline many times.
As per a new report which surfaced on Similarweb, ChatGPT had the highest monthly active users in May 2023.
Google AI: What is it working on?
On the other hand, Google's AI journey has been nothing special. Gemini AI (previously known as Bard AI) has also been in controversy after its launch as some of the information given in real time on this AI platform was incorrect. Because of this, Sundar Pichai and his team faced heavy criticism.
However, Google said that they will be working on improving this tool and might also introduce the advanced version of Gemini AI in its search engine.
