iPhone users are set to receive AI features soon, as Apple plans to introduce iOS 18 next month. The new operating system will include on-device AI capabilities for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Watch. This marks a significant development as until now, only Android users have had access to on-device AI features. The upcoming iOS 18 will bring a range of on-device AI features to iPhone users, simplifying their tasks.
Notable features of iOS 18, as reported by Mark Gurman, include the Notification Summarization Tool, which will provide a summary of all notifications received on the iPhone. Additionally, Siri, the voice assistant, will see improvements with a more conversational tone, enhancing user interaction.
Furthermore, iOS 18 will introduce AI-powered photo editing tools, enabling real-time photo editing and the ability to change photo backgrounds, similar to the capabilities of the Google Pixel 8 series. Apple is reportedly in discussions with Google and Open AI to integrate on-device AI features, potentially including Gemini AI or ChatGPT-40, although no official announcement has been made yet.
In addition to AI features, iOS 18 will bring significant updates to native apps, including Mail, Notes, Photos, and Fitness, as well as improvements to Apple Maps and the addition of a feature to solve complex mathematical problems in the Calculator app.
Meanwhile, Apple has not introduced a budget iPhone to the market since 2022. However, various reports suggest that the company is working on a new budget iPhone. The rumored iPhone will be known as the iPhone SE 4 and is expected to be released in the first half of next year. However, the price of the rumored iPhone SE 4 has been revealed ahead of the launch. In addition to this, Apple's upcoming budget iPhone is expected to feature better specifications compared to all the previously launched iPhone SE models. These improvements will be visible in the phone's design and battery.
