Apple recently held its WWDC 2024. During the event, Apple previewed the next generation of the iPhone operating system, iOS 18. Key features of the upcoming operating system include customization options such as arranging apps and widgets on the Home Screen and customising buttons, new text effects, the ability to lock and hide apps, enhanced Mail inbox management, the introduction of iMessages over satellite, a significant redesign of the Photos app, and more.

The upcoming major iOS release will be available for free this fall. If you want to try out iOS 18 early, you can download the public beta next month from beta.apple.com.
It's important to note that certain features may not be available in all countries, languages, or on all devices. For example, the Safari "Highlights" feature, which automatically detects relevant information, will only be available in English in the U.S. Additionally, the new live audio transcription feature in the Notes app can be accessed on iPhone 12 and later in English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the U.K., and the U.S.
Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence is the company's new generative AI offering, which will be integrated into most of Apple's apps. It enables iPhones to perform certain actions, such as composing emails and responding to text messages with Smart Replies. Users will experience the full range of Apple Intelligence features with the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, as they are equipped with the A17 Pro chip. This functionality will also be available on iPad and Mac devices with M1 chip and later models. Apple Intelligence will be available in beta this fall.
