Airtel has reportedly come up with a new prepaid recharge plan which is priced at Rs 395. The new plan offers an alternative to Reliance Jio's existing plan at the same price point. However, there are key differences between the two options.

Airtel's Rs 395 plan breakdown

  • 56 days validity
  • Unlimited voice calling
  • 600 SMS for 56 days. If in case all the free SMS are used, users will be charged Re 1 for local SMS and Rs 1.5 for STD SMS.
  • 6GB of data

Airtel vs Jio: A feature comparison

At the time of writing, this is a must to state that both the telecom companies- Airtel and Jio come with the prepaid plan at the same price tag. But this is a must to mention that Jio's offering will provide a longer validity period of 84 days, when compared to Airtel's which is shorter- only 56 days.

Furthermore, Jio includes 100 SMS per day, reaching a total exceeding Airtel's capped limit of 600 SMS. Hence, anyways Jio's plan looks cost-effective with unlimited 5G data bundled.

While Airtel presents a new recharge prepaid plan, Jio's Rs 395 plan seems to be better with value for money based on validity, SMS limits and data.

However, Airtel's plan might be a strategic move to influence future tariff adjustments within the telecom landscape, as reported by Telecom Talk.
