Xiaomi has announced its latest smartphone in the new Play series in China called the Xiaomi Mi Play. This is the first phone with Play branding by Xiaomi that sports a notch on top of the display. The Mi Play has been positioned as the affordable gaming smartphone that targets the youth.

Xiaomi Mi Play specifications
The Xiaomi Mi Play sports a 5.84-inch Full HD+ 19:9 2.5D curved glass display, 1500:1 contrast ratio with 2280×1080 pixels and is powered by a 2.3GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P35 12nm Processor with 680 MHz IMG GE8320 GPU. It gets 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage that can be expanded to 256GB using a microSD card. The phone runs on MIUI 10 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and uses Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD).
In terms of camera, the Mi Play comes with a 12 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size, PDAF, EIS and a 2 Megapixel secondary camera. Towards the front is an 8 Megapixel front-facing camera.
The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back and houses a 3000mAh battery along with some connectivity options that include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac(2.4 /5GHz) Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C.
Xiaomi Mi Play price
The Xiaomi Mi Play is priced at 1099 yuan (Rs. 11,155 approx.) for 4GB RAM/64GB version and is available for order in China from today. The phone will be available in three colour options of Black, Dream Blue, Twilight Gold and the company is also bundling 10GB data per month for 12 months.
