With the latest update, dated 26th October, WhatsApp has made an official announcement of rolling out the new stickers feature. WhatsApp has also said that the there would be support for a third-party sticker pack that will allow developers and designers to create stickers for its platform. For this, WhatsApp has included a set APIs along with the interfaces that will allow developers to make sticker apps, which will add stickers to WhatsApp on Android or iOS.

This feature can be published like every other app on Apple App Store and Google Play Store, wherein users who download and install the app will be able to start sending the stickers from WhatsApp itself.

In order to use this feature, one needs to click on the Emoji button that is there next to the text box, wherein you can choose the sticker option placed next to the GIF to select the sticker pack. With this users can also check out the sticker pack and even add them in the favourites section, to instantly send it to someone.

As if now, WhatsApp is currently offering 12 sticker packs, which can be added by clicking on the 'plus' (+) sign from the sticker menu. Some of the stickers that are there include Salty by Alisa Kryzhanovska, Cuppy by Minseung Song, Bibimbap Friends by Pete Ellison, Komo by Sanat Rath, Shiba Inu by Aiko Kuninoi, Unchi & Rollie by nu1t, Koko by Hanasake Picture Inc., The Maladroits by Cole Ott, Banana by Jayde Fish, Fearless and Fabulous by Ann Shen, Hatch by Hatch and Biscuit by Ghostbot.

WhatsApp in near future would also be working on animated Stickers, wherein there would be an option to create your own sticker pack as well. As soon as you click on the 'Get more stickers', that page will take the user to Google Play where the user will be able to install third-party stickers, but these wouldn't be working like the native WhatsApp stickers.

The WhatsApp stickers feature will be available on WhatsApp for Android beta users v2.18.329 and above, whereas iOS users on v2.18.100 will get the feature gradually, but some reports suggest that the app will have to be reinstalled, in order to get the feature.
