Popular among children, TikTok is basically facing criticism for the circulation of pornographic content, for which the government asked Google and Apple to block tiktok downloads, but according to techARC, a market research firm, the ban won't be effective on the ground as TikTok users who already have the app can share it with others via ShareIt and once shared, the user can easily install the app and become a new user.
According to the company, there are over 120 million monthly active users in India. The government has asked Google and Apple to block the app, followed by the Supreme Court's refusal to stay the original Madras High Court order. The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court refused the lift on the ban and have set April 24 as the next hearing date.
According techARC, despite the ban, users can still get the app from third-party app stores like apkmirror, apkpure, uptodown and androidapkbox.
