Samsung Galaxy S series set to launch with industry-first features on 20 February

The Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus along with the Galaxy S10e will take on the likes of Apple iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR.

Samsung Galaxy S series set to launch with industry-first features on 20 February

Samsung is all set to launch it's most awaited Galaxy S series on the 10th anniversary of the S series, with never heard features on 20 February. The core of the lineup will be the same that will have the regular Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus along with the Galaxy S10e that will take on the likes of Apple iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR.

Samsung had launched the first Galaxy S with a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen in 2010 and later in 2012 introduced a multi-window (Android 4.1) ambient light and "smart stay" feature on the Galaxy S3.

In the Galaxy S4, there were features like "IR Blaster", smart programme, smart rotation and smart scroll. The Galaxy S5 came with "IP67" dust and water resistance along with the first Samsung phone with a fingerprint scanner.

Later in 2015, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge saw the phones with wireless charging and curved edge screen, while the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge came with "Dual Pixel Autofocus". The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ came with  Infinity Display while Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ that were launched last year housed Dolby Atmos Surround Sound, Dual Aperture and AR Emoji.

This year being the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S series, both S10 and S10 Plus are expected to come with the new "Infinity O hole-punch" display.

According to reports from the Verge, the S10 and S10 Plus will "both have AMOLED Gorilla Glass 6 panels at 3040 x 1440 QHD+ resolution". The phones are touted to come with the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor or Samsung's in-house Exynos 9820 chipset, based according to the region.

Other reports from WinFuture suggests that the Galaxy S10 would 128GB model would come with 6GB RAM and a 512GB / 8GB version, while the S10 Plus would come with 1TB of storage and 12GB of RAM.

Other than the phones, the launch event could also see the new Galaxy Buds and the new Galaxy watch active.
