Samsung has launched the new Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) in India. This phone is touted to be the first phone with rear quad cameras that features a telephoto, ultra-wide, and depth sensors. On the front is a 24 Megapixel camera that supports face unlock and beauty features. The phone comes preloaded with Bixby voice assistant along with Samsung Pay and Samsung Health.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) comes with a 6.3-inch (1080×2220 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 processor that is built on 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 512 GPU. The phone comes with 6GB and 8GB RAM with 128 GB inbuilt storage,  which is expandable to 512 GB via microSD card.

Being a camera-centric phone, the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) camera specs include a 24 MP sensor with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, a10 MP wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, an 8 MP 120° Ultra Wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 5 MP f/2.2 depth sensor camera, all placed at the back. For selfies, the phone on the front gets a 24 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The phone is touted to recognise 19 different scenes and can also optimise colour settings for a better shot. The camera of the phone can detect flaws like closed eyes, facial blur, or backlight in the images. The front camera gets selfie focus and pro-lighting and also has an AR Emoji feature that can allow users to create up to 36 animated emojis.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) and uses Dual SIM ( nano + nano + microSD). The phone houses a 3800mAh battery that gets adaptive fast charging. The phone measures 162.5 x 77 x 7.8 mm in terms of dimensions and weighs 183g. 

The Galaxy A9 gets a Fingerprint sensor at the back and comes with many connectivity options that include Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), 4G VoLTE, VHT80, Bluetooth v5, GPS + GLONASS, NFC and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Other sensors on the phone include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, RGB light sensor and proximity sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) price starts at Rs 36,990 for the 6GB RAM variant, whereas the 8GB RAM version is priced at Rs 39,990. Samsung has made the phone available in Bubblegum Pink, Caviar Black, and Lemonade Blue colours. The phone will be going on sale online via Airtel Store, Flipkart, Amazon, Samsung Shop and Paytm Mall. It will be available offline starting from 28th November. The Galaxy A9 (2018) is up for pre-booking from today and with HDFC debit or credit card, customers can get an additional cashback of worth Rs 3,000.
