The company had announced via a blog post on Thursday stating that, "We are starting to push the incremental rollout of OxygenOS 9.0.2 for the OnePlus 6, some of the most exciting features that we introduced on the OnePlus 6T are now available on OnePlus 6!".

The OnePlus 6 will be receiving the OxygenOS 9.0.2 update that comes with many great improvements along with added features, general bug fixes as well as the new camera feature that is there on OnePlus 6T. The latest update of OxygenOS 9.0.2 for OnePlus 6 brings the November Android security patch to fix all the existing bugs.

The OxygenOS 9.0.2 for the OnePlus 6 comes with Nightscape mode and Studio Lighting that tweaks the camera improvements. The Nightscape mode helps in capturing low-light shots backed with improved clarity, better colours and less noise. The Studio Lighting mode, on the other hand, recognises the faces and adjusts the light accordingly.

The addition of the Nightscape mode and Studio Lighting update in the OnePlus6 is exactly like the one that is there on the OnePlus 6T, as both handsets share the same camera specs.

The company also noted that "This OTA will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. Using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices".

The new update will also get other features on OnePlus 6 like improved User Interface for About phone section, new navigation gestures, Android security patch and optimized standby power consumption. It will also get support to launch Google Assistant or other third party apps by pressing the power button for 0.5 seconds.

OnePlus 6 users can also manually check the availability of the update by going to settings and clicking on system updates. Note that your smartphone is connected to a Wi-Fi network and make sure you create a back up for your existing data.
