HMD Global has unveiled the new Nokia X7 in China. This is the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the ‘X series’ that comes with a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 wide color gamut and HDR video playback. The smartphone comes powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC (10nm Mobile Platform) with 6GB RAM. The Nokia X7 runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) that can be upgraded to Android 9.0 (Pie).

For optics, the phone comes with a 12MP rear camera that has ZEISS optics featuring Sony IMX363 sensor along with a 13MP secondary camera for zoom and portrait shots. The camera is backed with AI scene detection that can detect 18 scenes automatically. On the front is a 20MP camera that features f/2.0 aperture and pixel binding that can combine four pixels to form 1.8μm large pixel. Some camera features include AI beauty and AI portrait Mode, AI expressions, 6 AI studio lights and a new dual-view mode.
It houses a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and gets a glass back. The Nokia X7 packs a 3500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
Nokia X7 specifications
The Nokia X7 sports a 6.18-inch (2246 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio and 500 nits brightness. It is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 710 10nm Mobile Platform processor (Dual 2.2GHz Kryo 360 + Hexa 1.7GHz Kryo 360 CPUs), with Adreno 616 GPU and three configurations of 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage that can be expanded to 400GB with a microSD card.
The phone uses Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD) and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is upgradable to Android 9.0 (Pie). It comes with a dual rear camera setup of 12 Megapixel camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixels, OIS and a secondary 13 Megapixel secondary rear camera with f/2.2 aperture. Towards the front is the 20 Megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Nokia X7 weighs 178g and comes with Nokia OZO Stereo Audio recording. The Nokia X7 colours include Dark Blue, Red, Silver and Midnight Black.
The Nokia X7 price starts at Rs 1699 yuan (Rs. 18,100 approx.) for the 4GB RAM+64GB variant, 1999 yuan (Rs. 21,300 approx.) for the 6GB RAM+64GB variant and 2499 yuan (Rs. 26,625 approx.) for the top-end 6GB RAM+128GB storage version.
The phone will go on sale from October 23rd in China and is expected to launch globally by the name of Nokia 7.1 Plus.
