Lava, the domestic phone maker has doubled its market share to 13 per cent, making it the second brand in the country considering the 2G feature phone segment. According to the Counterpoint Research, Lava has registered more than 100 per cent growth in its market share from 6 per cent to 13 per cent in 2019 first quarter.

Considering the 2G feature phone segment, Lava happened to be second against Samsung with a difference of only 2 per cent in the market share.
Sunil Raina, President and Business Head, Lava International Ltd, said in a statement on Tuesday, "Over the years, we have been building capabilities within India in product design and manufacturing -- in order to make valuable technologies accessible and provide reliable products to our customers".
According to him, Lava is the only brand that has completed end-to-end control on the products value chain within the country.
According to CyberMedia Research (CMR), Lava also went on to become the top feature phone brand in India in February.
