Instagram will use Artificial Intelligence (AI), combined with human reviewers to roll out a new feature that will let users appeal to take down controversial content, allowing them to request a review of any content that was taken down. All these features will be available within the app.

In order to ensure the inspection of the content in question, any appeal for a post-take-down would be sent to a completely different reviewer, followed with the one who made the original decision to ensure the post is thoroughly inspected.
According to the photo messaging app, an in-app appeal tool would launch first to report individual posts that include nudity, followed with the expansion to other areas later on.
Going further, the feature would be usable for dormant profiles or accounts that have been removed from the app.
Instagram has more than one billion global users, said that it would make sure it restores any post that could have taken down on account of wrong reviewing.
The post said that the plans about the feature were discussed at a company media briefing held in New York.
In the F8 conference held last week, Instagram admitted on having developed a text and media-matching technology that would remove posts, which try to spread fake news on the platform.
Instagram also decided to run viral posts that surface on the platform via Facebook fact-checker in order to combat hate and wrong information on the app.
