Huawei has unveiled its first foldable smartphone called the Huawei Mate X. The device was launched at an event in Barcelona. It features a Falcon Wing design along with a stretchable hinge for smooth and flat finish on both sides and is just 5.4mm at its thinnest point.

Huawei Mate X specifications
The Huawei Mate X comes with a 6.6-inch 19.5:9 OLED display when folded with 2480 x 1148 pixels resolution and a 6.38 inch OLED 25:9 display on the back panel with 2480 x 892 pixels and an 8-inch (2480 x 2200 pixels) OLED 8:7.1 display when completely unfolded. The device gets a Falcon Wing design with a stretchable hinge that offers a smooth and flat finish on both sides. Interestingly, the screen does not overstretch while folding.
Powering the device is the HUAWEI Kirin 980 processor with 7nm technology with Dual NPU and Balong 5000 5G modem. The phone runs on EMUI 9.1.1 on top of Android 9.0 (Pie) and gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner installed into the power button.
The Mate X comes with a triple rear Leica camera that comprises of a 40 Megapixel camera along with a 16 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8 Megapixel telephoto camera.
It gets an NM Card slot that will allow users to replace the second SIM with an NM Card. It gets the world’s first 55W (10V/4A) HUAWEI SuperCharge fast charging technology that charges the 4500mAh battery from 0 to 85 per cent in 30 minutes.
Huawei Mate X price
The Huawei Mate X price is 2299 Euros/US$ 2607 (Rs 1,85,220 approx.) and will come in Interstellar Blue colour option. The Huawei Mate X will officially roll out from mid-2019.
