Google has marked the beginning of the general elections in India with a doodle that shows an inked finger. On clicking the image, users will be led to a page explaining to users how to vote during the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. The doodle is only for India where the world's largest democratic exercise has kicked off.
The doodle page informs the first time voters and users to help them known how to vote in India. It says that people with their names in the voter list could cat their vote. Voters will be able to find all the information on the polling booth, along with contesting candidates, date of election and timing, along with identity card and Electronic Voting Machines (EVM).
Voting would be held in seven phases for the 543 Lok Sabha seats: April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19 and counting will be taking place on 23rd May.
In the first phase, Ninety-one Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 18 states and two Union Territories will be voting, while Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, Lakshadweep, and Telangana will vote in a single phase.
Voting will also take place in parts of Bihar, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Maharashtra, Tripura, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
The doodle has also explained the voting process at the polling booth along with other several details.
On clicking doodle, the page will take the users on how to vote page, followed with voting process at Polling Booth.
It comprises of a complete detailed list that includes Voting Process at Polling Booth, Name in Voter List/Electoral Roll, Candidate Names, Find polling booth (Where to vote), How to use EVM (VVPAT), Identity card and Election dates.
