Canon launches EOS RP in the EOS R lineup in India. The camera has been designed for photographers that aid them in taking full advantage of the complete lineup of RF lenses. It is also compatible with the existing collection of Canon’s EF and EF-S lenses and the company says that it can be used with one of three optional RF EOS-R Mount Adapters.
The Canon EOS RP features a 26.2 megapixel CMOS sensor with an f/1.2 lens that is powered by the company's DIGIC 8 image processor. The camera also comes with features like Dual Pixel CMOS Auto Focus (AF) along with 4,779 manually selectable AF points and a wide AF coverage area of 88% horizontal and 100% vertical. It also comes with eye detection AF that can automatically detect faces and focus on the eye of the subject.
It comes with a 0.39-inch 2.36 million dot Electronic LCD Viewfinder that gets Touch-and-Drag AF. The camera can record 4K UHD 24fps or Full HD 60fps video recording with 4K time-lapse shooting. It also has the ability to extract still images from 4K video recording. The camera has an ISO range of 100-25,600 that is expandable up to ISO of 102,400 and gets built-in support for Bluetooth technology and Wi-Fi.
The camera is built around the 54mm mount diameter along with short-back focus that allows one of three optional mount adapters for full compatibility with all existing EF, EF-S, TS-E and MP-E lenses. Other features include Creative Assist mode that offers unique visual effects along with adjustments like saturation, brightness, contrast, monochrome, colour tone and background blur.
The Canon EOS RP full-frame mirrorless camera price is Rs 1,10,495 for the body only and Rs 199,490 with the RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM lens bundle. The camera will be available in March 2019.
