Live images of the retail box have surfaced online, setting off speculation of the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Plus. Smartphone maker Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 5A smartphone earlier this year, and the red box leaked suggesting the launch of the Plus version is peculiar since there is still no word on the launch of the regular variant - Redmi Note 5 - by the company.
The leaked live images, shared by Android Headlines, do not give away any specific information about the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone, it does confirm its presence.
While the leaked images say little about the features of the new smartphone, previous leaks have suggested that the Redmi Note 5 Plus will be packed with features pretty similar to the Redmi Note 5.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 630 processor and in just two RAM and storage variants - 3GB/ 32GB and 4GB/ 64GB - ditching the 2GB RAM variant that was seen on its predecessor, the Redmi Note 4.
In terms of graphics, the device is said to pack an Adreno 508 GPU and could sport a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixel) display.
In the shutter department, Xiaomi could offer a 16-megapixel main camera to its mid-range segment with the Redmi Note 5. The rear camera, said to have an f/2.0 aperture, is accompanied by an LED flash module. On the front side, the smartphone is expected to pack a 13-megapixel camera.
While there is no official word on the launch of the smartphone yet, there is a good chance that Xiaomi chooses to unveil the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Plus at the same launch event.
