Nokia 6.1 Plus, 5.1 Plus launched in India; Price, Specifications, Features, Where to Buy
After much wait, HMD has finally launched the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus for sale in India. However, Nokia 5.1 Plus launch wasn’t expected at the event. These smartphones are known by the names Nokia X6 and Nokia X5 in China. They are noteworthy being the first Nokia smartphones to have the notch. They also boast about glass bodies and Android One software among the other attractive features. Nokia 6.1 Plus has already been a massive success in China, with overwhelming response from Nokia fans around the world. The glass design covers the phone by 90% however not compromising with he quality. A solid aluminium frame in between provides strength to the smartphone.
Nokia 6.1 Plus, 5.1 Plus Price
Nokia 6.1 Plus is priced at Rs 15,999. Unlike China, India gets only variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The price has been slashed for Nokia 6.1 Plus as the previous version originally cost Rs 16,999. The price for Nokia 5.1 Plus hasn’t been announced. It will be revealed when the smartphone goes on sale in September.
HMD also announced a new partnership with Flipkart. It will be the exclusive e-commerce platform for Nokia phones sale. Both the phones are available online on Flipkart from August 30.
Nokia 6.1 Specifications
Nokia 6.1 sports an edge-to-edge display. The notch enables the company to add a bigger display. The new Nokia models have 5.8 inch FHD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ration and high screen-to-body ratio. The device is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front as well as back. Three colour variants are available for the smartphones- Gloss Midnight Blue, Gloss Black and Gloss White.
Talking about the processor, Nokia 6.1 Plus operates on an octo-core Snapdragon 636 chipset with 4GB of RAM. It offers 64GB of internal storage expandable up to 400GB using a microSD card. The device is an Android One phone timely security updates and Android 9 Pie and Android Q. Both Nokia 5.1 Plus and 6.1 Plus will come with Google Lens out-of-the-box.
Nokia 6.1 Plus has a dual camera system with primary camera of 16 megapixel and secondary of 5 megapixel sensor. It also has some AI support which helps improving the quality of image and Bokeh effect. It also houses a 3,060 mAh battery with fast charging via USB Type-C.
Nokia 5.1 Plus Specifications
In looks, Nokia 5.1 Plus looks like the Nokia 6.1 Plus. They both have notched display, glass design and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It sports a 5.86-inch HD+ display with 2.5D curved glass and 19:9 ration. Coming to processor, it sports an octa-core 2.0GHz Helio P60 chipset. The RAM is yet to be revealed.
Just like Nokia 6.1 Plus, 5.1 Plus also has a dual camera system with 13-megapixel sensor with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture and 5-megapixel sensor for depth of field photos. An 8-megapixel sensor is present on the front with f/2.2 aperture and also support AI face unlock. The phone is powered by a 3060 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo as part of the Android One Program.
