Lok Sabha Elections 2024: DMK ahead in Tamil Nadu, BJP's Annamalai leads, says India TV Poll

In 39 Parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu, as many as 950 candidates are all set to contest the April 19 Lok Sabha polls.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is predicted to be ahead in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in a close contest with the BJP's Annamalai leads, says India TV Opinion Poll. Nagapattinam constituency in the Cauvery delta region has nine candidates, the least and Karur segment in western region, 54 candidates, the highest. Thoothukudi constituency in southern Tamil Nadu has 28 contenders including DMK leader and incumbent MP Kanimozhi.

Kanyakumari: Kanyakumari is the only seat in Tamil Nadu from where a BJP MP was elected in 2014. After 10 years, in 2024, BJP can win again from here. BJP has given ticket to P. Radhakrishnan and he is facing Congress's Vijay Sawant. BJP can win this seat in a close fight.

Chennai South: Chennai South seat is DMK's stronghold, but BJP is hopeful on this seat this time. Tamilisai Soundararajan has resigned from the post of Governor of Telangana to contest elections from Chennai South seat on BJP ticket. DMK's Thamizhachi Thangapandian is the MP from here and is currently leading.

Coimbatore: BJP has given ticket to its state president Annamalai from Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat of Tamil Nadu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has sought votes for Annamalai and he is also the biggest hope of BJP in Tamil Nadu. His various visits have increased the acceptance of BJP in Tamil Nadu. According to opinion poll, Annamalai can win the Coimbatore seat.

Sivaganga: Karti Chidambaram, son of Congress veteran P. Chidambaram, is the MP from Sivagangai Lok Sabha seat of Tamil Nadu and Congress has once again trusted him. According to India TV CNX opinion poll, Karti Chidambaram can once again win the Sivagangai seat.

Vellore: NDA has made New Justice Party Chief AC Shanmugam its candidate in Vellore. He is contesting against DMK's Kathir Anand. According to India TV CNX opinion poll, AC Shanmugam is leading from this seat and he can win Vellore seat.
