At least nine people were killed while several others were injured in an explosion that took place in a firecracker factory in Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar on Friday, the police said.
The police cited the initial investigation into the matter and said that the deceased included women. The cause of the blast was being ascertained, they added.
The incident occurred under the Vembakottai police limits.
