New York: Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis stormed into the US Open quarterfinals with a straight-set triumph in their third-round match here.
The top-seeded Indo-Swiss pair eased past 13th seeded Dutch-Czech combination of Michaella Krajicek and Barbora Strycova 6-3 6-0 in a contest which lasted 59 minutes.
Sania and Martina put up a thoroughly dominating performance by holding their serve all through.
In the opening set, the top seeds broke their rivals once and sent down 14 winners as compared to the 8 by Krajicek and Strycova to grab the advantage in 33 minutes.
Krajicek and Strycova were even more erratic in the second set and conceded six break points, three of which were converted by Sania and Martina.
With 9 unforced errors, Krajicek and Strycova literally served the match on a platter for Sania and Martina, who wrapped up the second set in just 26 minutes to march ahead.
Next up for the Indo-Swiss combination are ninth seeds Yung-Jan Chan and Hao-Ching Chan of Chinese Taipei, who rallied to beat unseeded Romanians Irina-Camelia Begu and Raluca Olaru 5-7 6-1 7-6 (4).
