Melbourne, Mar 27: Bernard Tomic is back in Australia's Davis Cup team to play Uzbekistan in an Asia-Oceania second-round match.

Team captain Pat Rafter, who had suspended Tomic before the country's 5-0 win over Taiwan in February, said Wednesday that Tomic would be joined by Lleyton Hewitt, Marinko Matosevic and Matt Ebden on indoor clay courts at Namangan, Uzbekistan from April 5-7.

Rafter's disciplinary move announced in December came after Tomic's ATP ranking slid and he faced questions about his performance at the U.S. Open in September following a straight-set loss to Andy Roddick. Tomic also faced court in November and was fined on driving charges.

Through regional qualifying, Australia is attempting to return to the elite World Group for the first time since 2007. Tomic has won eight of his 10 Davis Cup singles matches.

In January, Tomic won the Sydney International, his first ATP event.

Tomic lost 6-3, 6-1 to Andy Murray last Saturday at the Sony Open in Miami. Murray needed only 56 minutes to beat Tomic, and the 20-year-old Australian was jeered off the court by the stadium crowd after winning just 10 points in the second set.
