MONTE CARLO -Seeded players continued to advnce to the third round of Monte Carlo Masters Tennis here on Thursday even as Rafael Nadal reached the fourth round after top seed Novak Djokovic.
Former world number one Nadal won his second round against Michael Berrer of Germany beating him 6-0, 6-1.
In other matches, Novak Djokovic of Serbia beat Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland 6-4, 6-4, David Ferrer of Spain outplayed Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia 6-0, 7-6 (7/4) and Fernando Verdasco of Spain defeated Tomas Berdych of Czechoslovakia 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 and reached fourth round.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France, Tomas Berdych, Ivan Ljubicic and Marin Cilic of Croatia have been ousted from the event.
