New Delhi: After winning eight titles together in a year, Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis sealed the WTA No. 1 doubles ranking on Saturday.
The pair has won two Grad Slam finals, Wimbledon and US Open.
On Saturday, Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis powered past Chinese Taipei's Chan Hao-Ching and Chan Yung-Jan 6-4, 6-2 to reach their 10th final of the year together at the Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) Finals.

"On the court I feel very fortunate to have Sania on my side because she's an incredibly positive person," Martina said after the match on Saturday.
Sania Mirza partnered Hingis for the first time at the BNP Paribas Open in March, 2015 where they also bagged their maiden title together.
“This is something we've worked towards especially in the later part of the year. When we first teamed up, we were testing it out. But when we started doing well, we realized that we could do some great things together and it became one of our goals to end the year No.1, so we're really happy to have achieved that,” Sania Mirza was quoted as saying by the WTA website.
