Chennai, Jan 7: Canada's Milos Raonic beat second seeded Nicolas Almagro 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday to advance to the final of the Chennai Open.
The fourth seeded Raonic hit 17 aces, including three in the final game, as he saved four break points to reach the third final of his career.
Victory over the 10th-ranked Spaniard means that Raonic, judged the ATP Newcomer of the Year in 2011, will play either top seeded Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia or Japanese qualifier Go Soeda in Sunday's final.
