Grapevine, Texas, Aug 28 : Sabine Lisicki of Germany defeated Aravane Rezai of France 6-2, 6-1 to win the first Texas Open on Saturday.
The fifth-seeded Lisicki did not lose a set during the tournament and lost only 13 games over her five matches.
Lisicki, who reached the semifinals of Wimbledon this summer, won her third career singles title.
Rezai, ranked 114th, entered the tournament as a qualifier and played in her sixth match this week.
After each player held serve for the first five games, Lisicki won nine of the final 10. AP
