England, Jun23: Roger Federer says he is “dreaming” of a record-tying seventh Wimbledon championship and has to do better than his quarterfinal exits the past two years.
The owner of a record 16 Grand Slam titles—including six at the All England Club—said Saturday he hopes he can be the person to put an end to the run of four consecutive major finals played between No. 1 Novak Djokovic and No. 2 Rafael Nadal.
The 30-year-old Federer is currently ranked No. 3 but can move back into the top spot he held for a total of 285 weeks by winning Wimbledon. He's more interested in adding the title than reclaiming the ranking because, he says, “Trophies is what really gets you going.”
The grass-court tournament begins Monday.
