Quebec City, Sept 18: New Zealand's Marina Erakovic overcame a slow start to beat No. 3 seed Tamira Paszek 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the Bell Challenge semifinals on Saturday.
Erakovic next faces sixth-seeded Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, who edged Michaella Krajicek 6-4, 6-3.
The 23-year-old Erakovic and the 25-year-old Zahlavova Strycova will both be seeking their first WTA Tour title in Sunday's final. They have never faced each other on tour.
Erakovic, who was born in Croatia and moved to New Zealand when she was 6, also upset top-seeded Daniela Hantuchova 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the $220,000 event. AP
