Tennis star Sania Mirza has got her status changed as the hot pinup girl of tennis, says a media report.
After her marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik on April 12, things have now changed.
Sajid Khan agrees. “I believe that when a pinup girl gets married, she immediately loses 90 per cent of her male following,” he says.
Sania had been an icon for quite some time and her marriage may probably dethrone her for a while.
Sanjay Kapoor says, “Sania Mirza is a sports person and an icon. The fact that she is young and attractive has made her a pinup girl. Basically she is here to play tennis and as long as she does that she will remain hot. Right now because of the marriage she has been in the news. This is just a phase.”
Not only is she hot but Sania has brought laurels for the country and made us proud.
“I like her for all that she has done for our country's tennis. She is a beautiful girl and an icon no doubt, but all the controversy surrounding her marriage hasn't helped her image. Sania is a young girl and she got married too early. Maybe she should have got into this a few years later. And why did she choose such a guy? Marriage definitely affects the image of an icon,” says Shahwar Ali.
Vindu Dara Singh feels that in our country once a girl is married she definitely loses her ‘pin-up' idol status, probably because people start thinking of her as bhabi.
He says, “They start visualizing her differently and stop fantasizing about her. Now that Sania has married a Pakistani cricketer she will definitely lose her pin-up idol status.”
Everyone however does not think that once a woman gets married then her image changes.
Gaurav Chopraa elaborates, “I don't think that just because Sania got married her idol status changes. Nowadays one can be married and still be desirable. There are many celebrities all over the world who have not lost their ‘hot' status just because they are in a relationship.”
The way a woman dresses up and the kind of image she projects makes her what she is.
“One can't really say that now Sania won't be as attractive as she was when she was single. If she maintains how she looks now, wears the kind of clothes that she has been wearing then I doubt she will lose the pinup idol status,” adds Gaurav.
Cyrus Sahukar feels that marriage does not change any woman's desirability factor at all. “Some of the hottest and the most beautiful women are married,” he says.
The fact that Sania is a sportsperson and not a Bollywood star changes how fans behave towards her married status.
Rahul Dev says, “Normally in movies there is a predicament that once the heroine is married then a paring loses its intensity but then Kajol has proved that wrong. Sania is a sports person and she will, I am sure, maintain her figure and image even after marriage. It will probably make her grow as a person and increase her understanding of life and relationships. Her image will definitely not go down even though she is married now.”
