Montevideo, Uruguay: Uruguay kept its World Cup hopes alive with a 2-0 victory over Colombia in South American qualifying Tuesday.
The loss kept Colombia from clinching a place at Brazil next year, although it remains a favorite to advance.
Edinson Cavani scored in the 77th for Uruguay, and Cristian Stuani added another three minutes later
Uruguay improved to 22 points from 14 matches and Colombia stayed on 26 from the same number of games.
